Julie Hendrickson, MA, LMHC, FIPA

Welcome to Seattle Psychotherapy Services, the psychotherapy and psychoanalytic practice of Julie Hendrickson. I have been providing psychotherapy and psychoanalysis to individuals (adults & adolescents), couples, and groups in the Seattle area for over 25 years. I am a certified Clinical Supervisor for Washington State. Additionally, I provide consultation in psychoanalytic psychotherapy clinical practice. 

Education
I received my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 1995 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Vermont in 1984.  My education in psychology has continued in the years since and includes training in group dynamics and psychodrama, training as a couples therapist from the John Gottman Institute, addictions training, certification as a sexual minority mental health specialist, and advanced training in British Object Relations psychoanalysis.  I graduated from psychoanalytic training from the Northwest Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NPSI) in 2018. Upon my graduation as a psychoanalystin 2018, I became a Fellow of the International Psychoanalytic Association (FIPA).

I have extensive exper-
ience counseling adults
and adolescents in both
community and private
settings.  I currently treat
adults and adolescents,
individuals and couples in
my private practice in the
Madison Park neighborhood
of Seattle. I also teach 
at the Northwest Psychoanalytic
Society and Institute (NPSI) and
Center for Object Relations (COR).

My experience includes, but is not limited to, treating depression & anxiety, relationship problems, grief & loss, chemical dependency, eating disorders, weight loss & management, chronic pain & physical/emotional concerns, and issues of identity (i.e. sexual orientation, career satisfaction, self-confidence).

Professional Affiliations
I am a member of the Center for Object Relations (COR) which provides training to psychotherapists in the community who work with mothers, infants, and families to promote healthy early attachment and emotional development. Additionally, I am a member of the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study (NWAPS), a group that provides workshops, trainings, and support to psychotherapists interested in the application and benefit of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic thinking to the community. I am a graduate and full member of the Northwest Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NPSI) in Seattle that provides advanced training in psychoanalysis. I am an active member of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA) and have served on the North American Psychoanalytic Confederation (NAPsaC) as an Alternate member to the Board representing NPSI.
